i can’t believe it…

“ngayon lang ako nakatagal sa isang banda ng isang taon” :)

a little flashback..

march 2010, me and my friend em iglesias decided to make a band. we were arranging my compositions but we couldn’t rehearse coz theres only two of us in the band. were not completed yet

then suddenly, may 2010, em’s friend/vocalist of the band “sushi monster” kaydee sablaon, invited him to play with her band as a guitarist. then i said “wow em! congrats! may banda ka na ulet!” em is so excited with his new band.

a week after, em heard that the band’s bassist, decided to leave the band.

the the next day,

“dek! gusto mo ba mag banda ulet??”

“bakit nakakuha ka na ng miyembro??”

“hindi, irereto din kita dun sa banda ng tropa ko, dun sa sushi monster”

“bakit? e kumpleto na naman kayo ha”

“umalis na daw ung bahista nila, ikaw nalang mag gitara, ako nalang mag ba-bass”

i remember…

our first gig with Sushi Monster, Nescafe Soundskool 2010 Gig 101 @ SM Mall of Asia Music Hall (at the back of the mall)

then countless gigs @ Checkpoint Bar, Better Living, Parañaque. mostly organized by Happy House Production. met some bands.. september issue, jurassic pards, katoto, faircatch, escape to nevada, etc.

our best gig… Genre Bar. but i can’t remember if it’s july or august ‘10

sushi monster 1st year anniversary.. july ‘10

video shoot…

met some new friends… many friends..

recording… bonding… hours of rehearsing… more hours of eating… etc. etc. etc. and many more.. :D

a year full of effort, adventure, fun, challenges, failure, trial… hmmmm

now i can say that i’m really now a part of not just a band, but a family….

happy 1 year to me :D hahahah
